CHRISTIAN TOD, born 1977 in Linz, is a filmmaker, economist and lecturer. His first documentary Fatsy — The Last Cowboy of Austria (54min, 2007) received an honorable mention at the Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz. Christian Tod’s first feature-length documentary Es muss was geben (104min, 2010) was the opening film at Crossing Europe 2010. The documentary Free Lunch Society (93min, 2016) about the idea of an unconditional basic income had its world première at CPH:DOX in 2017, was released in Austrian cinemas in 2017, in over 100 German cinemas on February 1, 2018, toured Europe with Moving Docs, North America with the Goethe Institute, was screened at over 50 international film festivals and aired on TV worldwide. Since 2017, Christian Tod has been working on his latest feature documentary, Day X.
