Jasmin Hagendorfer

Biography

Jasmin Hagendorfer is a director and artist based in Vienna. Her films combine documentary and fictional approaches, often with experimental elements. Central to her work are socio-political themes as well as questions of gender, identity, and intimacy. Her films have been presented at festivals and exhibitions such as the Diagonale, AFO Academia Film Olomouc, Wicked Queer, OutSouth Queer Film Festival, B3 Biennial of the Moving Image, Ars Electronica, among others.

Her filmography includes Fudliaks! Tear The Sexes Apart!, Slugfest, and Musings of a Mechatronic Mistress, which explore feminist and queer perspectives alongside the relationship between body, technology, and society.

In addition to her work as a director, she is co-founder and artistic director of the Porn Film Festival Vienna. She gave a TEDx Talk in Vienna (How Good Porn Can Save the Planet) and is the editor of the book Arse Elektronika: Sexponential!. She also contributed a chapter to the anthology Fragile Fäden – Beziehungsweisen im Kapitalismus.
